TCI Connects with Industry Peers at GLSLA’s Trenchless Insights Seminar

As underground infrastructure ages, finding ways to extend its service life remains a shared priority across the industry. The NASTT GLSLA Chapter’s Trenchless Insights: Aging Infrastructure seminar in Vaughan brought industry peers together to explore this challenge and exchange perspectives on the path forward.

As part of the seminar, Terry presented on whole-life asset management, examining how a long-term approach can help guide decisions about infrastructure rehabilitation and protection. An asset’s condition, the demands placed on it and its service environment all influence what comes next. Considering these factors together helps identify where repair, strengthening or protection can support longer service life and delay or avoid full replacement.

Continuing the Conversation

These themes carried into conversations at the TCI table, where Terry and Ken connected with attendees to discuss infrastructure challenges, share experience and explore the role of CFRP strengthening and protective systems. There is no single answer to extending the life of critical underground infrastructure. Hearing how others approach the challenge—and sharing what we have learned through our own work—made the seminar a valuable opportunity to learn and connect.

Thank you to the NASTT GLSLA Chapter for having us and to everyone who stopped by the TCI table.
