Challenge:
Aging infrastructure was creating growing concerns about the Buffalo Pound Water Treatment Plant’s ability to provide sufficient water quality and quantity for future demand. Upgrades were required to address the current corroding concrete within the tanks and provide long-term protection against future degradation.
Solution:
TCI ProTecStrong 855-R (Repair) was the best choice to address the corroded concrete within the tanks. This application restored structural integrity while sealing the surfaces to prevent future water and vapor infiltration. Once the repairs were completed, ShieldStrong 955-PL-B, a chemical-resistant liner, was applied to provide a durable protective barrier against long-term corrosion. Both products were selected not only for their performance but also for their NSF/ANSI 61 certification and third-party validation—ensuring safe, reliable protection for potable water infrastructure.
The successful lining of the Buffalo Pound Cascade Room using TCI’s high-performing concrete liners, ensures the plant can continue delivering safe, reliable potable water to over 260,000 residents located in the cities of Regina, Moose Jaw and surrounding areas for decades to come.
