Challenge:
Leaking millions of gallons of water, the Lorne Park Water Tank required a critical upgrade to ensure integrity and efficiency in water filtration. As a potable water facility, any chosen liner must meet the highest safety and certification standards.Â
Solution:
TCI ProTecStrong 855-R (repair) and TCI ShieldStrong 955-PL-B were strategically chosen to stop all leaks and upgrade the tank to a membrane system. TCI ProTecStrong 855-R (repair), a fiber-reinforced epoxy, effectively provided structural rehabilitation and reinforcement to the tank’s floors, creating a smooth leak-free surface. As a chemical-resistant protective coating system, TCI ShieldStrong 955-PL-B (potable water) aligned perfectly with the projects goals and was easily applied to tank walls. Both products are NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 certified and suitable for drinking water systems. Together, they provided a high-performance solution to restore integrity, prevent future leaks, and extend the life of the asset. Since its retrofit in 2022, the Lorne Park Water Tank has had no issues with leaks and continues to provide safe, clean drinking water to the community.
